LDH is moving forward with a plan to distribute food benefits on EBT cards. If the USDA, who administers the SNAP program, is prepared and ready to move money into states’ accounts, we will use federal dollars to fund SNAP recipients’ accounts. If they are not ready, LDH will proceed with our state-funded program to provide food assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and households with children through their existing EBT cards.

Southwestern Louisiana Office of Public Health offering flu shots, vaccinations and mobile COVID-19 testing in Lake Charles
Mobile testing for COVID-19, flu shots and vaccines for hepatitis A, hepatitis B and tetanus are available from Monday through Friday until further notice at the Calcasieu Parish Health Unit, 3236 Kirkman St., Lake Charles. The site is closed during inclement weather and state holidays.

Louisiana Office of Public Health opening additional COVID-19 mobile testing sites in DeRidder and Oakdale
To aid in Hurricane Delta recovery, the southwestern Louisiana Office of Public Health has added two more COVID-19 mobile test sites to its schedule for next week. Testing will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23.
