Recovered Bodies – At this time, state officials, working in conjunction with coroners from local parishes, have recovered 1,070 bodies. This is an increase from 1,067 recovered bodies reported on Nov. 1, 2005.
The Department of Health and Hospitals has announced the reopening of the final oyster harvest area that was closed on Tuesday, Aug. 30 because of Hurricane Katrina. This marks the reopening of all oyster harvest areas in Louisiana.
The Department of Health and Hospitals has announced the reopening of oyster harvest areas that were closed on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 because of Hurricane Katrina. Oyster harvesting can resume in the Harvest Areas 3-4 and in Harvest Areas 8-13.
Baton Rouge –The Department of Health and Hospitals has REOPENED some of the oyster harvest areas that were closed September 23, 2005 as a precautionary measure because of Hurricane Rita. Oyster harvesting can resume in the areas outlined below beginning at official sunrise on Saturday, October 22.
