  Home and Community-Based Services Waivers - Adult Day Health Care Waiver LAC 50:XXI.Chapters 21-27

  Amends the provisions governing the Adult Day Health Care Waiver in order to: 1) align these provisions with the waiver approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; 2) ensure consistency across Office of Aging and Adult Services (OAAS) waivers and the standard language used in other OAAS administrative rules; 3) provide the option for participants to designate a responsible representative; 4) amend the criteria for priority offers to specify priority for individuals admitted to, or residing in, nursing facilities who have Medicaid as the sole payer source; and 5) allow OAAS to grant exceptions to waiver discharges due to qualifying circumstances.

  Federally Qualified Health Centers - Reimbursement Methodology - Mammography Separate Payments LAC 50:XI.10703

  Amends the provisions governing the reimbursement methodology for federally qualified health centers in order to implement a payment methodology to allow reimbursement for mammography screening and diagnosis services outside of the prospective payment system rate.

  Expedited Licensing Process for Healthcare Facilities and Providers LAC 48:I.Chapter 41

  Adopts provisions governing an expedited licensing process and fees for healthcare facilities and providers licensed by the department in compliance with Act 324 of the 2018 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.

  Emergency Medical Transportation Services - Licensing Standards LAC 48.I.Chapter 60

  Repeals and replaces the provisions governing the licensing standards for emergency medical transportation services in order to: 1) clarify and align these provisions with the corresponding legislative authorities governing emergency medical services; 2) ensure that the provisions are consistent with standard language used in other health care licensing regulations; and 3) promulgate the provisions in a clear and concise manner in the Louisiana Administrative Code in compliance with Act 789 of the 2012 Regular Session, Act 106 of the 2017 Regular Session, and Act 557 of the 2018 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.

  Louisiana Department of Health provides funding to East Baton Rouge to shred old tires that breed mosquitoes

  The Louisiana Department of Health has secured grant funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for East Baton Rouge Parish Mosquito and Rodent Control District to purchase a tire shredder. The $605,000 grant covers the cost of the shredder, installation and training.

  Attorney General’s Lawsuit threatens health coverage for 849,000 Louisianans with pre-existing conditions

  Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards commented on Attorney General Jeff Landry’s unilateral decision to enter the state of Louisiana into a lawsuit that eliminates health care protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Today, the attorney general appeared on CNN to discuss his effort. During the interview, he made clear that prior to joining the lawsuit, he did not have a plan in place to ensure insurance companies do not deny coverage for the 849,000 people in Louisiana who could lose health care because they have a pre-existing condition.

  The Louisiana Department of Health announced today that State Medicaid Director Jen Steele is one of six Medicaid directors from around the country to participate in the Medicaid Leadership Institute.

  Louisiana Department of Health releases maternal mortality data and recommendations to guide improvements

  Today, the Louisiana Department of Health released a new report on maternal mortality in Louisiana. Maternal mortality is a pregnancy-related death occurring up to 42 days following the end of a pregnancy. The report includes recommendations made by an expert maternal mortality review committee to guide improvements in maternal health in Louisiana.
