Reprocessing Claims from the September 9, 2025, Cycle
During the claims cycle on September 9, 2025, Gainwell Technologies identified a system error that prevented certain fee-for-service professional, outpatient hospital, and durable medical equipment (DME) claims from processing through the ClaimsXten (CXT) editing system. The claims paid without standard or National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) editing being applied. Gainwell Technologies is in the process of identifying the claims from that cycle that paid in error

LDH announces state-funded emergency SNAP assistance distribution schedule, SNAP staff furloughs
LDH is announcing the distribution schedule for state-funded emergency assistance to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households that include the elderly, disabled, or children. Households consisting only of able-bodied adults will not receive state-funded emergency assistance.

Eligibility – Federally-Facilitated Marketplace Assessments LAC 50:III.505
Repeals LAC 50:III.505 to align with recent legislative changes enacted through Act 427 of the 2025 Regular Session, which prohibits the department from accepting Medicaid eligibility determinations made by a Federally-Facilitated Exchange, including the Federally-Facilitated Marketplace.

Professional Services – Doula Services LAC 50:IX. Chapter 15 & Chapter 151
Adopts provisions governing doula services in accordance with Act 228 of the 2025 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. This proposed rule establishes coverage and reimbursement criteria for nonclinical maternal health services provided by registered doulas before, during, and after childbirth.

Louisiana Department of Health urges residents to avoid botox injections from unlicensed sources and non-medical settings
Two unrelated reports of severe illness following botulinum toxin injections were reported among Louisiana residents in September. One patient received injections of an unlicensed botulinum toxin product purchased online, and one patient received injections from an individual with unknown licensure in a non-medical setting.
