Louisiana Commission on Perinatal Care and Prevention of Infant Mortality

Created by R.S. 40:2018, the commission consists of 16 members. The following are appointed by Governor:

• 2 Neonatologist (1 active in medical education and 1 actively engaged in private practice)
• 1 Obstetrician
• 1 Family Practictioner
• 1 Pediatrician
• 1 Female Health Nurse Practitioner
• 1 Neonatal Nurse
• 1 rep from Family Planning
• 2 Health Care Adminstrators representing the public and private sector
• 1 Social Worker
• 1 Nutritionist
• 2 Perinatologists
• 1 Member of the House appointed by the House Speaker
• 1 member of the senate appointed by the Senate President

Members appointed by the governor shall serve at his pleasure.
