LINKS and VFC Documents Centers
The Louisiana Immunization Program keeps a library of updated documents for vaccination providers related to general vaccination information (factsheets, Q & A sheets, etc.), LINKS (Louisiana’s immunization information system) and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
Vaccine Information Statements (VISs)
Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) are information sheets produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that explain to vaccine recipients, their parents, or their legal representatives both the benefits and risks of any particular vaccine.
By federal law, all vaccine providers must give patients, or their parents or legal representatives, the appropriate VIS prior to administration of each vaccine given that is covered by the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Provision of VISs is a requirement of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986.
