Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week

At the top, there is a dark blue rectangular banner with white text that reads, "Talk • Listen • Care • TLC MOMS." Below the banner, there is large text that starts with "Up to" followed by highlighted blue text "1 in 5 women," continuing with "experience a mental health disorder during pregnancy and in the weeks after birth." Towards the bottom right, there is a teal silhouette of a mother holding a baby, facing each other in profile. In the lower left corner, the Louisiana Medicaid logo is displayed.

Feeling overwhelmed by welcoming a new baby? Many mothers and families do not receive the care they need when they need it.

TLC Moms, a Louisiana Department of Health initiative, offers support, resources, and a path to mental and emotional wellness for moms, families, and caregivers facing pregnancy or postpartum depression and anxiety.

A yellow school bus is prominently displayed on a blue background. Above the bus, white text on the blue background reads, "The U.S. loses the equivalent of 10 school buses of children each year to drowning," emphasizing the statistic with "10 school buses" highlighted in a contrasting teal box. To the right, in a teal box, are the words "Drowning Prevention Month." At the bottom left, another teal box contains the text, "Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4." The logo for Louisiana Medicaid is situated at the bottom right corner.
"Water Safety Tips” features five bulleted tips related to water safety. Each tip is highlighted with a rectangular label in a lighter blue shade. The top portion of the image is turquoise with the title written in white. Below the title, the tips are listed vertically against a dark blue background. Each section begins with a one-word heading in uppercase, followed by specific safety advice in smaller white text. Guidelines including supervision, life jackets, education, barriers, and CPR.

Drowning doesn’t look like you think. Drowning is silent and can happen in as little as 30 seconds.

National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day

A young person with short, dark hair wearing an orange t-shirt, sitting on a yellow couch is facing a person with long curly hair, who is partially out of frame on the right, holding a clipboard, suggesting a consultation setting. In the background, there is a bookshelf filled with various books. The image has multiple text overlays about National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. The text is set against colored blocks in teal and navy blue.

During #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we’re shining a light on the behavioral health services available through all Louisiana Medicaid plans for eligible children under age 21. Mental health challenges can significantly impact children’s ability to learn and develop.

These services include different therapy treatment options and individual, family and group counseling.

Coordinated System of Care (CSoC) offers services and supports to children with serious mental health and substance use challenges who are in or at-risk of out-of-home placement.
