Louisiana Medicaid Work Requirements

Some Medicaid members will have new federally mandated work requirements beginning January 1, 2027.

Medicaid will send letters to affected members when they need to take action or provide information. Members should be sure to keep their contact information up to date with Louisiana Medicaid so they do not miss these important updates.

Stop. Look. Lock.

Make the most of your Medicaid benefits

PTSD Awareness Month

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition caused by experiencing or witnessing extremely stressful or terrifying events. Treatment is available and effective.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help. Call or text 988 or chat online with a Lifeline counselor.  Louisiana Medicaid members are eligible for a wide range of behavioral health services, including therapy, counseling, and substance use treatment programs.

Medicaid members have access to confidential HIV testing. A health care provider can advise on which STIs you should be tested for and how often.

Access your Louisiana Medicaid or Health Plan ID card in the LA Wallet App

Easily access both cards in the LA Wallet app.The app updates daily so members have the latest health coverage information at their fingertips. Members can access the health cards of all family members listed in their household.

Louisiana Medicaid offers multiple health and dental plan options so you can pick coverage that fits your needs.

If your doctors, medications, or health needs have changed, you may want to switch your Louisiana Medicaid health plan.

Medicaid members can change plans up to two times in a year. Changes start on the first of the next month.
