Louisiana Health Insurance Survey (LHIS) Dashboard - Uninsured

The Louisiana Health Insurance Survey (LHIS) is a biennial survey conducted every other year since 2003 to measure the number of Louisianans without access to health insurance and related aspects of Louisiana’s healthcare system. The survey includes estimates of Louisiana’s uninsured population for both children and adults. The most recent survey was conducted in 2023. The 2023 LHIS survey was based on a sample of over 8,500 Louisiana households and 25,000 Louisiana residents. The dashboard displays the percent and number of statewide uninsured children and adults, along with trend information since 2003.
