Forty members have been chosen for this consortium, which services a five-parish region in southwest Louisiana (Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jefferson Davis parishes.)

The meeting agenda includes election of a chairperson and election of other officers for the consortium, and a presentation on the Governor’s Health Care Reform Panel and Regional Consortium that will define the roles and responsibilities of the consortium by the Department of Health and Hospitals, other organizational business to formally establish the consortium and scheduling of future meetings and discussions. Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting and offer comment.

“We are very pleased with vast amount of citizen input we have received from citizens in the southwest area,” Senator Mount said. “We hope residents will turn out for the meeting so we can be apprised of their interests and concerns regarding the state’s health care reform efforts.”
