Baton Rouge, Louisiana, -
Mobile testing for COVID-19 in Southwest Louisiana will now include two locations, both with access to rapid COVID-19 testing through Cue Health. Cue offers COVID-19 molecular point-of-care testing with results in 20 minutes.
Testing locations and hours are as follows:
- Calcasieu Parish Public Health Unit: 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
3236 Kirkman St., Lake Charles
In conjunction with Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) - Lake Charles Civic Center: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday
900 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles
In conjunction with the Louisiana National Guard (LANG)
Both locations will be closed on state holidays and during inclement weather. Individuals interested in Cue rapid testing should present to the site no later than 30 minutes before closing to allow time for results.
Both sites will continue to offer laboratory molecular testing through the Louisiana Department of Health Lab or Quest Diagnostics. Individuals will have the option of choosing between PCR or rapid testing. Following current guidance, confirmatory testing through Quest Diagnostics or the Louisiana Department of Health is encouraged for those individuals who test negative through Cue and are symptomatic.
COVID-19 continues to be active in Louisiana, and now is not the time to let down your guard. Continue to take precautions: practice social distancing, wear a mask, wash your hands and get vaccinated.
