LDH is moving forward with a plan to distribute food benefits on EBT cards. If the USDA, who administers the SNAP program, is prepared and ready to move money into states’ accounts, we will use federal dollars to fund SNAP recipients’ accounts. If they are not ready, LDH will proceed with our state-funded program to provide food assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and households with children through their existing EBT cards.
June 17, 2021 Some Medicaid members may receive pre-closure notices
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, - Louisiana Medicaid has been keeping members covered from the beginning of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
In June, Medicaid began sending letters to some members to notify them that they are no longer eligible for Medicaid. Coverage for these members will continue through the end of the month in which the COVID-19 public health emergency ends.
Members who receive a pre-closure notice will receive another letter with the exact date that your Medicaid health care coverage will end.
If you have questions, or have received a letter and think there is a mistake, you can check your case status and provide additional information at MyMedicaid.la.gov or call us at 1-888-342-6207. If you provide additional information to show that you are still eligible for Medicaid, your coverage will continue.
