The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)’s Office of Public Health (OPH) is partnering with Acadian Companies, Ochsner Lafayette General, Our Lady of Lourdes and the RescYOU Group to host a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video contest to educate youth throughout Acadiana about the dangers of vaping and opioids.

Winning entries will be awarded cash and other prizes and will be featured across multiple media platforms.

Contest details

There will be two categories for entry: The Dangers of Vaping and The Threat of Opioid Addiction and Overdose. 

Individuals between the ages of 11 and 18 who reside in one of the seven parishes of Acadiana (Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion) may submit a video. Entries may be submitted by individuals or teams for one or both categories above.

Submission details

Each PSA should be between 45 and 60 seconds in length and must be 25 MB in size or less. All entries should be submitted here and should include an Entry Form, PSA Contest Release Form and Photo Release Form with video submission.

Judging criteria

A panel of judges who represent a diverse sector in Acadiana will rate the PSAs based on creativity, impact, message clarity and engagement.
