April 17, 2024 LDH to hold spring health fair at parish health unit in Marrero

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Apr 17, 2024 - The Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Public Health Region 1 (New Orleans Metro Area) will hold a health and community resource fair on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson Parish Health Unit in Marrero located at 1855 Ames Blvd. The event is in partnership with Jefferson Parish District 3 Councilman Byron Lee.

The Spring Into Health event is open to the public and will include more than 20 organizations. Services offered at the health fair include health screenings; immunizations; nutrition education; Narcan and opioid prevention education; information on Medicaid renewals and health insurance marketplace coverage; lead safety; food boxes; sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing; and many other resources. Additionally, participants can enjoy kids' activities, a free bagged lunch and music by DJ Polo.

The event is free to attend, with free lunches available while supplies last.
