June 05, 2024 EBR Parish Health Unit temporarily closing June 5-13 for storm-related repairs

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jun 05, 2024 - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) is temporarily closing the East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit located at 353 North 12th Street, effective Wednesday, June 5.

The temporary closure is to allow for repairs to storm damage from recent severe weather events. The health unit building is expected to reopen Thursday, June 13, pending the completion of building repairs. The PHU was previously expected to reopen on June 10, and then was delayed again until June 11. But during construction, workers encountered additional challenges that require more time for repairs. 

Residents in need of health services they typically receive from the East Baton Rouge PHU can visit other Region 2 locations listed here.

Businesses requiring permits from the Office of Public Health's Sanitarian Services can visit the West Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit at 685 Louisiana Avenue, Port Allen, or call (225) 342-2650 with questions.

Funeral directors in need of death certificates may visit the Pointe Coupee Parish Health Unit at 282-B Hospital Road, New Roads.
