May 05, 2025 Louisiana Medicaid to Launch Consent-Based Verification Pilot for Income Checks
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, - Beginning this month, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) will pilot a new consent-based verification (CBV) system to streamline income verification for Medicaid members across the state.
The pilot project will impact Louisiana Medicaid members who must verify their income. Members selected for quarterly wage checks in May will be the first to receive a link to the CBV by mail in their request for information letters. Members who have opted in to texting will also receive the link in a text message.
Consent-based verification allows individuals to securely authorize access to their wage and income data directly from employers or payroll providers. By utilizing the CBV, Medicaid members can forego manual submission of pay stubs.
