The Louisiana Department of Health will close oyster beds in areas 1-28 beginning at sunset on Sunday, August 23, 2020, due to the potential of poor water quality because of tropical systems Marco and Laura.

The Louisiana Department of Health has reopened molluscan shellfish growing waters, Areas 1-7 effective 30 minutes before sunrise, Friday, June 12, 2020.
With these reopenings, all of the molluscan shellfish growing waters that were closed as a precaution due to the potential for adverse weather conditions from Tropical Storm Cristobal have been reopened.
