Medical Transportation Program – Emergency Medical Transportation LAC 50:XXVII.Chapter 3
Amends the July 1, 2023 Emergency Rule which amended the provisions governing reimbursement in the Medical Transportation Program in order to align the reimbursement rates established for emergency ambulance services and providers with current practice for Medicaid managed care and fee-for-service.

Targeted Case Management LAC 50:XV.Chapters 101-117
Amends the provisions governing targeted case management (TCM) under the New Opportunities Waiver, early and periodic screening, diagnosis and treatment, and the EarlySteps Program in order to clarify language and ensure the requirements for TCM services are accurately reflected throughout the administrative Rule.

Professional Services Program
Repeals professional service Rules which were promulgated prior to implementation of the Louisiana Administrative Code codification system, as it has been determined that the provisions of these uncodified Rules are obsolete or are procedural requirements that are included in the provider manual and should be repealed.

Pharmacy Benefit Management Program – Over-the-Counter Coverage LAC 50:XXIX.107
Amends the provisions governing the Pharmacy Benefit Management Program in order to remove references to specific over the counter drugs from the Louisiana Administrative Code to align the administrative Rule with the Medicaid State Plan, as a result of guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

September 2023 Final Rules
The Louisiana Department of Health, Bureau of Health Services Financing has submitted Final Rules to the Office of the State Register for publication in the September 20, 2023 edition of the Louisiana Register in accordance with the provisions of the Administrative Procedure Act, R.S. 49:950 et seq.

OPH Region 4 holding a PSA video contest
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)'s Office of Public Health (OPH) is partnering with Acadian Companies, Ochsner Lafayette General, Our Lady of Lourdes and the RescYOU Group to host a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video contest to educate youth throughout Acadiana about the dangers of vaping and opioids.

LDH urges residents to take air quality precautions due to wildfires
Extreme heat and drought have contributed to wildfires throughout Louisiana, which can negatively impact air quality. LDH is urging residents in areas where wildfires are burning or air quality is otherwise poor to take precautions to minimize the impact poor air quality can have on their health.
