Virtual interRAI HC and Care Planning Training
The interRAI HC assessment and Care Planning trainings are offered ONLY to Louisiana Support Coordinators (SCs) and Assessors who currently work for a Support Coordination Agency (SCA), Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), or the Long Term Care (LTC) Access Contractor that provide services to individuals receiving Community Choices Waiver (CCW), Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Waiver, PACE, and/or Long Term Personal Care Services (LT-PCS).
Only virtual certification classes are offered by the Office of Aging and Adult Services (OAAS) at this time. The interRAI HC (iHC) assessment training consists of pre-requisite requirements, two days of virtual classroom instruction, successful completion of a comprehensive online exam, and the completion of one virtual field assessment validated by an OAAS trainer. Care Planning training consists of two days of virtual classroom instruction, the completion of one Plan of Care approved by an OAAS trainer, and successful completion of a comprehensive online exam. Care Planning training is required for SCs and SCA Supervisors only.
Upon completion of the required training, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) - OAAS will issue the assessor/trainee an interRAI HC assessment and, if applicable, Care Planning certification which is valid for a period of three years.
Through the enrollment process, OAAS will inform new SCAs when to register for training.
