Assessment & Care Planning Trainings
interRAI HC and Care Planning Training
OAAS will resume face to face interRAI HC assessment and Care Planning trainings in 2023. The trainings are offered ONLY to Louisiana Support Coordinators (SCs) and Assessors who currently work for a Support Coordination Agency (SCA), Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), or the Long Term Care (LTC) Access Contractor that provide services to individuals receiving Community Choices Waiver (CCW), Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Waiver, PACE, and/or Long Term Personal Care Services (LT-PCS).
The interRAI HC (iHC) assessment training consists of pre-requisite requirements, two days of classroom instruction, successful completion of a comprehensive online exam, and the completion of one field assessment validated by an OAAS trainer. Care Planning training consists of two days of classroom instruction, the completion of one Plan of Care reviewed and accepted by an OAAS trainer, and successful completion of a comprehensive online exam. Care Planning training is required for SCs and SCA Supervisors only.
Upon completion of the required training, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) - OAAS will issue the assessor/trainee an interRAI HC assessment and, if applicable, Care Planning certification which is valid for a period of three years.
Through the enrollment process, OAAS will inform new SCAs when to register for training.
To register for interRAI HC assessment and/or Care Planning training, please complete the interRAI HC Assessment & Care Planning Registration Form and e-mail it to OAASMDS-HC&CPTRAINING@LA.GOV.
NOTE: Training Registrations MUST be received by OAAS, at minimum, one week prior to the scheduled training date.
