Chemical Threat Response Laboratory
Following a potential chemical terrorism event, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Chemical Laboratory Response Network (LRN-C) may request blood and urine samples from symptomatic patients for the Rapid Toxic Screen.
The Rapid Toxic Screen tests for 150 chemical warfare agents and metabolites of concern.
These clinical samples have specific collection, packaging and shipping requirements involving evidence tape and chain-of-custody.
