  Commercial Body Art

  Commercial body art has been regulated in the state of Louisiana since 1999. Body art is defined by Part XXVIII of Title 51 of the Louisiana Administrative Code as "the practice of physical body adornment by registered establishments and operators utilizing, but not limited to, the following techniques: tattooing, cosmetic tattooing, body piercing, branding, and scarification".

  Product Registration

  A Certificate of Registration is distinct and separate from a Permit to Operate. All facilities that fall under the auspices of Part VI, Part X, Part XXVIII, or other Food and Drug regulations must be permitted. Only those facilities which produce a retail-packaged food, drug, or cosmetic commodity are required to register such commodities with FDU.   Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Manual

  This manual sets forth operational procedures for the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), and is considered the authority, along with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) PACE Manual, LDH Medicaid PACE Provider Manual, the Louisiana Administrative Code (LAC) 50:XXIII and Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 460, under which the Office of Aging and Adult Services (OAAS) and the PACE providers must abide.

  UV Tanning

  Indoor tanning using ultraviolet sunlamp-based equipment has been a popular activity since the 1970's, but it has only been subject to regulation in the state of Louisiana since 1990. Louisiana is one of 24 states in the U.S. that currently regulate UV tanning, and it is one of only five that mandate classroom training for UV tanning equipment operators.
