The seminar will be held from Wednesday, March 28 through Friday, March 30 at the Holiday Inn South on Airline Hwy and I-12 in Baton Rouge.
Lake Charles –Officials with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals announced late today the signing of an order to close two molluscan shellfish growing areas in Calcasieu estuary. The closure is for Area 29 (Lower Calcasieu Lake) and Area 30 (West Cove).

Baton Rouge – The Department of Health and Hospitals announced today a grant award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of $71.6 million to go toward alleviating the rising operating costs of hospitals as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
Baton Rouge – Louisiana Spirit, a program through the Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Mental Health, was recently honored for its 2006 advertising campaign with eight awards at the 2007 New Orleans Addy Awards. The Addy Awards is the world’s largest advertising competition, with over 60,000 entries annually. The entries submitted by Louisiana Spirit included pictures of hurricane survivors and a message that mental health counseling is available.
